Ok, I know you guys are probably tired of listening to me fangirl over Dragon Age. But ya know what? I HAVE NO ONE TO FANGIRL WITH HERE. If I try to go all fangirly with Ian, he just scoffs and tells me to hush because he REALLY doesn't want to hear me brag and titter over how my PC is the sexiest bitch alive and she has all the boys drooling after her finely toned backside

SO. Bear with me for a little while longer? XD
What I wanted to gush about today was actually something a little different concerning the game. Now, obviously, I'm extremely hung up on the romance aspect of the story, which, surprisingly enough, can play a rather large role in the game as a whole. The great thing about Dragon Age is that every single thing you do (and I do mean EVERY. SINGLE. THING.) affects the outcome of your story. Certain choices in dialog open up other choices in dialog and action later into gameplay, as well as offers you different cut scenes and paths to take - things that you would not see if you were to have made a different choice earlier! The game is so versatile, with so many wonderful little tidbits in it. Aaaah, I flutter just thinking of it.
Anyway, the main reason I'm talking about this is because, currently, the game has me SO. FUCKING. DEPRESSED.
When you are involved in a romance with one of your group NPC's, there is the option to speak with them "privately" in the Camp Screen (you actually go to a large campsite where everyone is milling around. And I use quotations because you don't just wander off to a private place - the game considers it a conversation only for you and that specific NPC, so the other's are not affected by it, with few exceptions.) There are several options given to you when you speak privately with your romantic interest, including a break up option!
Now... I had always been curious about it, since I started playing last week, but I had never had the guts to choose it. I mean.. come on. My PC is romancing one of the most awesome characters ever (Flint, you hush. He kicks ass, and you know it!), so why would I want to end the fling?
Well, last night, I gave it a shot. In the name of science. I saved right before I went to talk to Alistair, clicked "private" and told him I was dumping his ass.
OH. MY. GOD. The FACE he made at me!! He looked so DISTRAUGHT, and I hadn't even given him a reason for breaking it off! Immediately I was plauged by guilt, listening to him get all sad and crushed (I tell you, Steve Valentine did an amazing job!), and I didn't even bother with considering my next answers for the dialogue. I just wanted it over and done with so I could reload my game and forget I had ever done such a horrible, awful, cruel thing.
This was two days ago, and I STILL feel bad about it! And no matter what I do I feel so... mean D:
